Full cone pattern features
This pattern delivers an even coverage of fluid over a specified area. Keep in mind that a full cone pattern can be maintained for a certain distance from the orifice which, when exceeded, forms mist or fog. The nozzle designs described here are capable of maintaining a full cone pattern for as far as possible after exit. However, you can use a misting pattern if you wish to form a homogeneous fog/mist.
Full cone nozzle designs
Four basic designs of nozzle can be used to produce a full cone pattern: Axial whirl, full cone tangential whirl, full cone spiral nozzles and full cone air atomizing nozzles. Each one of those has its own basic fluid mechanics, spray properties and common applications.
